Hey there! I hope you had an amazing week.
Last week on ANCHORED, we talked about faith. Understanding what to do when your faith does not feel as strong as it used to.
If you missed last week’s message, you can check your email or click here to read it.
Today, we are talking about something many of us struggle to let go of.
Past mistakes.
You did something you regret. You said something you wish you could take back. And even though time has passed, it still bothers you.
You wonder if God is disappointed in you.
You wonder if you have gone too far.
You wonder if the good things He has for others still apply to you.
You are not the only one who has felt this way
David is one of the most well known figures in the Bible.
But his story is not a clean one.
He committed adultery.
He had an innocent man killed to cover it up.
He made serious mistakes that had real consequences.
And yet, this is what he wrote:
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12
David did not write that verse because his life was perfect. He wrote it because he experienced God's forgiveness after real failure.
There is a difference between guilt that helps and guilt that traps
Sometimes guilt is useful.
The right kind of guilt shows you where you went wrong. It pushes you to make things right. Then it points you back to God.
But the bad kind of guilt just keeps you stuck.
It replays the same mistake over and over.
It tells you that what you did is who you are.
It convinces you that forgiveness is for other people, not you.
That second kind of guilt is not from God.

What God actually says
Romans 8:1 says:
"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
I hope you didn’t miss that.
The death of Christ on the cross was not a partial payment. It was a complete one.
So that mistake you keep revisiting has already been dealt with. You do not have to keep punishing yourself for something God has already forgiven you for.
If ANCHORED has blessed you, consider supporting this ministry! ❤️
Your support goes a long way in helping us share these lessons with more people for free each week.🙏🏽
Here is a question worth sitting with
Instead of asking, "Have I suffered enough?", "Will God ever forgive me for this mistake?"
Try asking, "Am I willing to accept what God has already given me?"
Because you will never feel like you have done enough to deserve forgiveness. That is the whole point of grace. You did not earn it.
One last thing
In Luke 15, Jesus told the story of a son who walked away from his father and made a mess of his life.
When he finally came back, his father did not make him beg. He did not make him explain himself first.
He ran to meet him.
That is how God sees you.
You do not have to keep carrying what He has already forgiven.
This week, give yourself permission to actually receive it.
